Only The Best Materials
Upholstery can be a long and complex process depending on the situation. Highland Marine tries to break it down into manageable steps. As in enclosures most upholstery has a base or foundation. In many older boats and some newer ones as well this is wood. Wood if taken care of correctly is a long lasting and budget friendly solution. However many times when we receive upholstery to recover there is some wood damage where the wood needs to be replaced. We have a full set of woodworking tools in house and can do all your woodworking needs here.
Foam is also a critical component of properly enjoying your upholstery. Foam can become permanently compressed with repetitive use, especially cheaper grades of foam. We have partnered with a company who specializes in foam. They have dozens of different grades of foam to match your desired thickness, density and budget if and when we need to replace foam.
Vinyl can be another challenge. We have access to a number of suppliers each with a massive variety of colors, textures and styles sometimes making your choice almost impossible. We have a couple vinyl's we prefer to work with but an unlimited array of options if you are looking for something unique. We look forward to helping you make your decision.
Because upholstery can contain so many hidden issues that often only come to light when the process has already started its always difficult to provide an accurate quote before starting. This is something we try to be as transparent about as possible and as the process moves forward as we encounter issues that may not have been expected we make sure to stay in direct contact with the client as much as possible so you understand exactly what costs you will be facing and where these costs come from. We would be honored to do your next upholstery project!
