Custom Boat Covers
Starting in 2020 Highland Marine started building boat covers as a side business taking over from a friend who could no longer do the work. Throughout the years we have refined our manufacturing process creating beautiful and functional boat covers for any boat.
Although we have since built up a vast array of offerings we still believe the core of our business is in creating boat covers that outlast, outperform and outdo our competition. Throughout our journey making hundreds of covers for all shapes and sizes of boats we have improved our processes, found new materials that are better in many aspects and learned the good the bad and the ugly of boat covers in general.
We have listened to many complaints with boat owners of their previous covers and tried to solve issues before they arrive, designing each cover exactly for your boat. We build mostly snap on covers and firmly believe that snap covers are the best solution for 85% of boats. Many complaints about shrinkage, water leakage, water pooling, difficult application and mold damage can be mitigated with the proper materials and proper techniques.
We primarily use a material called Top Notch 9 for our covers. We have run extensive tests and listened to feedback as well as examined old covers and we firmly believe that Top Notch 9 is the best all around material for mooring and travel covers. Because of our design and material choices most of out covers (excluding pontoon covers) can also be used to travel. Many competitors will not recommend travel with their mooring covers. Pairing Top Notch 9 with proper reinforcing, stainless steel hardware and proper tension gives us the confidence to send your boat on the road!
We also integrate adjustable poles and boat vents into most of our covers, giving you flexibility when installing the cover and helping keep mold and mildew at bay. Top notch 9 is also a breathable material which is very important to keep your boat as dry as possible and keep interior heat an a minimum. Many competitors will use a fully sealed fabric such as Top Gun or similar fabrics. These products are fully waterproof but do not have much or any breathability. While waterproofness is good, if a cover is designed properly to shed water it is not essential in keeping the boat dry and we believe it is much more important to have some breathing action.
While we excel in snap covers there are times when snap covers do not work for one reason or another. We have build ratchet covers or under the hull strap covers occasionally and also welcome these unique challenges if and when they arise.
Thank you for taking the time to read through some of the points on our boat covers, we would be honored to craft your next cover!

Top Quality Materials
Our travel and mooring covers are primarily made from Top Notch 9 fabric, which is exceptionally strong, water-resistant, UV-stabilized, fade-resistant, and lightweight. Unlike many competitors, our covers are designed for both mooring and travelling, offering maximum value and versatility.
To ensure long-term durability, we use Gore Tenara thread, which is guaranteed to outlast any material it's sewn into, eliminating thread deterioration issues. We also double-stitch all seams and use the highest-grade stainless steel snaps for added reinforcement.
