With all marine enclosure jobs we offer an extensive free consultation to understand your expectations, suggest options or changes and get a plan in place that both the client and Highland Marine are happy with. Our extensive experience allows us to confidently recommend different grades and types of material that fit your budget and your boat. For example using the highest end Strataglass may not make sense on a smaller fishing boat where the main concern is shelter from bad weather. We try our utmost to listen to your expectations and recommend styles and materials that you will be happy with both in terms of cost and performance.
Our continued training and investments into new technology's put us on the leading edge of marine canvas shops in Ontario. Our 3D scanning tech allows us to design your entire boat top in our advanced CAD software. This has several key advantages such as renders before we even start the manufacturing process that can be shared with clients to gain their approval and find early changed that might be needed before any material is cut.
Our new laser fabric cutter then takes CAD designed files and cuts fabrics with sub millimeter precision while also creating a melted edge promoting longevity and long term reliability. This technology significantly reduces time spent cutting manually allows us to end up with a better fitting product with a shorter turnaround time saving you time and money.
Our new tech has allowed us greater freedom in doing mobile jobs for some marine canvas jobs. While there is nothing more ideal that having the boat here at our yard we understand that this is not always possible and we will do our best to accommodate al mobile requests as well.
Custom Frame Making
At Highland Marine we understand that the frame if the foundation our and boat top. Just like anything else in life if the foundation is not built correctly then whatever is built on top will also fail. If your current frame is in good condition we are more than happy to use it again however if it is not in good shape we may refuse to reuse it as we are then blamed when the entire enclosure fails. We can manufacture any new frame in house. We use heavy gauge 7/8 for most frame making projects but heavier 1 inch tube is also available for larger boats where it may be needed. We use ONLY stainless steel for both the pipe and the fittings, building you a boat frame that will last as long as your boat itself barring a major disaster.
